Sunset Valley Women's Golf Association (WGA) membership entitles you to a computerized handicap, eligibility for weekly events, and entry fees for the match and medal play tournaments in our league. An established handicap is required for prize eligibility. There are several tournaments during the golf season. They are noted on our golf calendar that will be posted via the links under "Women's Association" on this page, and on the league’s bulletin board along with a signup sheet. Our members consist of all handicaps from the beginner to the more experienced player. Most of the time golfers will be divided into flights according to your handicap. You will be competing with golfers within your flight. Prizes are awarded weekly. Once a month we have a general meeting immediately after golf to discuss league business and we encourage everyone to stay for lunch.

Posting Scores - This must be done after you golf every game you play during the golf season. This should be done when you golf at other courses also. Scores are adjusted according to your handicap and then entered into the computer. This is beneficial to you and is only fair to the ladies you are golfing against. Handicaps are established by posting scores after every round of golf you play. If you have questions about posting ask for assistance.
USGA GHIN Handicap - This is established by posting your golf scores after each round you play at any golf course. Handicap strokes are then given to you to make you equal with all other golfers.
Interclub - OWIGA - 9 - An organization formed in the late 70’s for 9-hole WGA club members wishing to play competitive against golfers on other private courses. The team is composed of 15-20 golfers with an 18 hole USGA GHIN handicap. Team members must support WGA Association and play regularly throughout the golf season on Tuesday mornings. Interclub competition takes place in the spring and early fall with all teams competing for weekly points. This form of competition is a great way to learn and apply the rules of golf and still have fun playing against women throughout the city.
